Rings & Things is a jewelry findings and bead wholesaler.
They have both an online and mail order catalog available. I found Rings & Things when I was looking for a place to purchase goldfilled and silver wire in a variety of sizes and shapes to make wire-wrapped jewelry. I have ordered both findings and beads and been very happy with the products and prices available at Rings & Things.
The Rings & Things Web site is simple. You can find general information about the company, jewelry and project suggestions, view the catalog and contact the company. They host a bulletin board for asking them questions or asking for advice on a variety of jewelry related topics.
The online catalog is an accurate representation of the mail-order catalog. Rings & Things does have a good customer service touch of allowing you to choose what to do with backordered items. I received an immediate confirmation email that an order had been received and a follow-up email the next day (on a weekend) detailing my order.
The variety of jewelry-making supplies and beads that are available is impressive and the prices are reasonable. My items were shipped quickly in secure packaging. Overall, I was very satisfied with my order from Rings & Things and look forward to ordering from them again.

It's a great little company out of Spokane, WA, that's been in the biz for many years. Their catalog is wonderful--thick and dense, with good descriptions of their products. They also have a great Web site. Their on-line catalog features a wide range of products, good photos, project ideas and decent prices, especially for those just starting out.
They now have a traveling trunk show that is not to be missed. I won't be able to attend the one in [my town], because my son is graduating […] (though he's urging me to go to the show). But my loss is your gain: The selection will be better for you because I buy a LOT when I go! You can check their show schedule here.
They also have an active on-line forum, built to handle any and all of your questions about jewelry-making (including soldering), polymer clay and those new silver clays (Art Clay Silver and Precious Metal Clay).
But the absolutely most wonderful aspect of Rings & Things is the people. Over the years (and in cyberspace) I've met the owner, Russ Nobbs and other staff (Polly, Mary, Todd et al.) A nicer bunch of people you will not find anywhere. And it often seems like they will drop everything in order to help you find what you are looking for, whether that's a bead, an answer or a solution to your jewelry-making problem.
And I know for a fact Russ has earned the respect and good will of many in the industry. (Hint: African bead traders LOVE him.)
Knowledge, integrity, generosity and a sense of humor--any time you find these qualities in people or a business, that's something to be commended. They do things right.
So today I commend Rings & Things and send a big heartfelt thank-you their way.

Back when I started making jewelry, Rings & Things was one of the first catalogs I came across. I quickly found the online store and made it my sole supplier when starting up my jewelry making business. Over the past several years, I've ordered hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from Rings & Things online, and have yet to be disappointed.
From the home page, you will find a variety of different areas of the "store" to visit. Peruse the Design Gallery for design ideas, browse the Project section for project sheets that will give detailed instructions on how to create jewelry, home accessories and other items, or virtually chat with other jewelers on the Discussion Boards. Lots of additional news, links and other information are available as well. Joining in the Discussion Board, you will find lively dialogue between expert staff, the owner (Russ Nobbs), and other jewelers across the country.
The Online Store has a good search engine and the categories are set up so browsing by type of bead, finding, or other jewelry-related topic (books, fixtures, stringing material) is easy. Simple click and add to your shopping cart functionality. A plus for the shopping cart is that when you create an account, all information except your credit card number is kept in the database. No need to reenter with every order! Minimum order is $25, but you won't have any problem making that. There is a service charge of $4 for orders between $25-50, but again, it's easy to get to $51 shopping at R&T if you're a bead addict like me!
I am always pleased with the quality of the items I receive, and they are exactly as depicted. R&T is very good at providing a detailed description, including size and stringing direction of the beads on the site. Quality and selection are excellent for the beginning jewelry artist. R&T has a good assortment of glass, Swarovski crystals, and selected gemstones. R&T have some superb shapes and sizes of semi-precious stones and other beads that are not found on other sites [and] discount pricing on multiple quantities.
Shipping is reasonable and fast. Unless I am getting a huge number of heavy stones or findings, I normally choose the USPS Priority Shipping. Product arrives in excellent condition, packaged carefully with a Tootsie Roll Midget and Jolly Rancher candy thrown in just for fun. Returns are easy - I have had to return one or two items that just weren't what I thought they would be (my fault, not R&T's). No prior authorization required or restocking fee, just return unopened unused merchandise with a copy of your shipping invoice within 30 days of purchase. If you have opened or older merchandise, contact their helpful Customer Service department for assistance.
One of the best benefits of being an R&T customer is the personal invite to the traveling Trunk Shows. R&T staff visit several locations twice a year, bringing thousands of strands of beads at huge discounts. Many of these beads are not available on the web site or through the paper catalog. A limited number of findings, silver, pewter and other jewelry-making components are also available at the trunk show, but they are not deep-discounted. Plus, if you place an order at the Trunk Show, all shipping is free! Visit the web site for upcoming Trunk Show locations.
Bottom line, I've been a loyal Rings & Things customer since 2000. Russ and the staff at R&T have been in business since 1972, and the longevity of the business speaks volumes. The online store is a favorite supplier of mine due to good prices, quality, and outstanding customer service. For jewelers who are making the move beyond hobby status to semi-professional, R&T is a great place to start purchasing your jewelry-making supplies!

The Bead Scoop: Rings & Things Trunk Show
Last Sunday, I was fortunate to attend a trunk show put on by the jewelry supply wholesaler Rings & Things. I have shopped from their catalog and Web site for many years but have never been able to attend a trunk show, even though they have been to my area several times in the last few years. I was lucky to have a free schedule and a few hours to spend this time around.
The show took place in the ballroom of a nice hotel. It was well organized and well lit and there were tables upon tables of strands of beads. Mostly semi-precious stone beads, but also freshwater pearls, Austrian crystals, some tools and findings, and even a collection of strands of old trade beads.
Just as I expected from my experiences with them on the phone over the years, the customer service was excellent! There were lots of staff members around and they cheerfully explained the discounts and pricing, and I saw them helping customers find the beads they were looking for. There were many staff members waiting to check people out, so any wait would have been minimal. Good bead vibes all around!
I went looking for some clear quartz and crystals, pretty basic stuff. But of course my bead lust got the best of me and I ended up going home with lots of cool strands of stones to use in my projects.
There is a whole list of trunk shows scheduled all around the country on the Rings & Things Web site. Check it out to see if one is coming to your area! Ask a staff member for more info, and I am sure they will be able to help.

I would like to say how great you guys are. I work in customer service at my job and I know how important it is to make the customer happy so they continue to shop at your store. I have NEVER been unhappy with any of my purchases from Rings and Things and I am most pleased with how quickly I receive my orders.
Recently, I placed two separate orders and called to see if there was any way to have them shipped together. The woman on the other end of the phone was very polite and helpful and took care of my needs. Earlier today an associate called because an item I ordered was going to take longer to receive.
