7/8" Head Pins
|
We used black gunmetal components (chain, jump ring, and head pin). The crystal links only come in silver plate and gold plate, so to make them match the other components, we antiqued them with oxidizing solution.

Tools:
Instructions:
- Create charm dangles.
- Put a 4mm Czech bead on a head pin, trim excess (keeping about 8mm, or 1/3"), and make loop:
- Use round nose pliers to grasp the wire just above the bead, at the arrow, and bend sharply away from you.
- Now use small round nose pliers to grasp the tip of the wire, and bend it smoothly around the pliers down close to the beads.
- Open the loop of the head pin like you open a *jump ring, and attach to the bottom of the crystal link.
- Use an oval *jump ring to attach other end of crystal link to bottom of charm.
- Repeat steps 1a-c 10 times.
- Use oval jump rings to connect all of the charms together.
- For a 16" choker, use about 10½" of the chain, with the clasp in the middle. This is 5¼" each direction out from the clasp.
- Use the remaining 2 jump rings to hook the chain to the charm dangles.
*Jump Ring Hint:
- When you open and close jump rings, twist sideways instead of "ovalling" them. This keeps their shape better, which makes them easier to close all the way.
