Wine Glass Charms — Project Sheet #68-002-35

Using memory wire:

 

Parts and Tools:

Tough wire cutters
Round-nose jewelry pliers
#61-197    Memory Wire, ring-size
Czech faceted firepolish beads (illustration courtesy of Rings & Things) Assorted beads — Czech faceted firepolish beads are often used for these
Assorted charms (on this page, we used #49-926 Wine Bottle, #49-930 Cork Screw, and #49-932 Bunch of Grapes. #49-928 is a Wine Glass)
Split ring, or small jump ring
 

Instructions:

  1. Cut 1½ coils of ring memory wire.
  2. With round-nose pliers, make a loop at one end.
  3. String desired beads and pattern.
  4. Finish the coil by making a loop on the opposite end.
  5. If hanging charm off end, then attach a split ring to the charm, and attach the split ring to one end loop.
  6. If hanging charm off beads, then attach a small jump ring to the charm, and attach the jump ring between selected beads.
  7. Attach to wine glass base, or wine bottle.

Using manipulating hoops:

 

Parts and Tools:

  1. Round-nose jewelry pliers
  2. #42-211    1" Plated Manipulating Hoops
  3. Assorted beads — Czech faceted firepolish beads are often used for these
  4. Assorted charms
  5. #37-133    Small jump ring

Instructions:

  1. String desired beads and pattern on a 1" manipulating hoop.
  2. Gently bend about 1/16" of the round end (not the flattened end with a hole) to a 90° angle, straightup, so it will fit into the opposite end.
  3. Close hoop, and use a small jump ring to attach a charm to desired location between selected beads.
