Rings & Things - Projects - Rubber-stamped Resin Beads

Supplies:
#27-030	25mm rectangle resin beads (or other flat resin beads)
#37-426-2	2.5" head pins, yellow
#41-216	6mm Split rings
#39-290	Lanyard hook
Misc. beads such as #23-238 8mm glass spacer disks; #23-164, #23-264 or #23-844 Czech glass "E" beads; #26-810 brass heishi
Round-nose jewelry pliers (such as #65-200 or #65-400)
Chain-nose pliers
Rubber stamps
Acrylic paint
Cosmetic sponge (available in the cosmetic aisle of most grocery stores)

Instructions:
Using a cosmetic sponge, carefully apply acrylic fabric paint (this example uses Lumiere by Jacquard) onto your favorite rubber stamp. Stamp image onto the resin bead. Allow paint to dry completely. For the zipper pulls pictured here, slide beads in desired pattern onto a 2.5" head pin. Begin wirewrapping* a loop. Add a split ring to the loop before wrapping the loop's wire around the stem. Use the split ring to attach the beaded drop to a lanyard hook.
*To wirewrap a loop:
For best results, use both chain-nose and round-nose pliers. Use chain-nose pliers to grasp the wire just above the top of the bead. Use your fingers to bend the wire sharply over the top of the pliers, at a 90° angle. You should have 2-3mm of straight wire between the bead and the bend (less for fine-gauge wire, more for heavy wire or more wraps). Use round-nose pliers to grasp a spot just above the bend, and use your fingers to smoothly bend the wire all the way around the tip of the pliers. (For different sizes of loops, bend the wire around thinner or thicker portions of the plier tips.) Now use pliers to grasp the wire firmly across the loop. Use your fingers or chain-nose pliers to carefully wrap the wire around the stem. For best control, experts recommend you break this step into a series of half wraps. Trim excess with flush cutters.
