Cacoxenite by itself is an iron aluminium phosphate mineral associated with iron mining. It has a silky luster, and a hexagonal crystalline structure that grows in a radial pattern. When cacoxenite forms within amethyst and other forms of quartz, it displays as yellow to reddish orange (and occasionally green) needles, strands, tufts and layered inclusions. Although the name comes from the Greek words for "bad" and "guest" (because the phosphorus in cacoxenite caused problems when smelting iron ore), it's highly valued in the metaphysical world of gemstone healing: It is believed to raise spiritual awareness with cacoxenite's high vibration. When cacoxenite forms within amethyst, it is considered to be highly regenerative, and is associated with the third eye and crown chakras. When it forms within clear quartz, it is associated with the third chakra. In both forms, it is believed to be an amplifier for positive thought processes, and beneficial for increasing intuition.
Super Seven is an unusual form of quartz that is famous for having seven crystals in one. The seven are: Amethyst, Cacoxenite, Goethite, Lepidocrocite, Rutile, Smoky Quartz, and Clear Quartz (Rock Crystal). Also known as the Melody Stone or Sacred Stone, the major (and possibly only) source for this stone is Espírito Santo, Brazil. Our strands are a lovely mixture of amethyst, clear quartz, and pale smoky quartz, with inclusions of reddish rutile needles, orangish tufts of cacoxenite, deep red lepidochrosite, and shimmering goethite. You'll love looking closely at each bead and marveling at the glimmers and aventurescence provided by these inclusions -- it's no wonder that this stone has become a New Age sensation!
