These fire-polished glass beads are made in the Czech Republic, the centuries-old Bohemian center of bead production. Available in rondelles, rounds and teardrops, they offer a similar sparkle to crystal beads at a more affordable price. These faceted beads are stunning in both strung designs and woven designs, and are ideal for repairing or updating genuine vintage jewelry. In a centuries-old tradition of glass bead-making, they are created by pressing glass in a mold, then roughly faceting the formed bead. Finally, the bead's surface is slightly melted to "fire polish" it and give it increased luster.
