String the 4.5mm round corrugated bead onto the head pin.
String two rubber earring backs onto the head pin, the first one positioned against the 4.5mm round corrugated bead with the second one positioned about 11mm apart. The earring backs serve as bead adjusters for the large-hole mirage bead.
String the Mirage bead onto the head pin and slide it over the rubber earring backs. The earring backs should be hidden just inside the Mirage bead (adjust their position if needed).
String on an acorn bead cap followed by a 3mm fluted hogan bead.
Finish the end of the head pin with a wrapped loop; snip off the excess head-pin tail. For step-by-step instructions on making wrapped loops see How To Make Loops on Head & Eye Pins.
Attach the finished acorn drop to a kidney wire earring finding. Then use round nose pliers to crimp the kidney wire loop together. This keeps your drop in place.
Use flat-nose pliers to straighten the bend in the ear wire tail.
String on a 4mm round gemstone bead followed by a 3mm fluted hogan bead. You may need to relax the arch of the kidney wire to get the beads to the other side of the arch.
Re-form the tail bend and arch in the kidney wire. Make any other necessary adjustments so the Kidney wire hooks properly.
Repeat steps to make the second earring.
Tip: The beads on the kidney wire are free-floating; a dab of your favorite jewelry adhesive can be used to permanently attach them to the wire.
