Peace Bracelet Tutorial

Learn how to polish, color and add charms to an inexpensive brass bangle bracelet and turn it into a finished salable piece of jewelry. No stamping necessary!

Designer Tips

  • Polish bracelet with ultrafine sanding sponge. (Or drop into a tumbler with steel shot and ShineBrite for a couple hours.)
  • Wipe thoroughly with a soft dry cloth to remove any dust, moisture or oils.
  • Apply Stamp Enamel to words. Allow to dry for 30 seconds.
  • Wipe off excess with a soft cloth. 
  • Wait another 60 seconds, then use the ultrafine sanding sponge to remove remaining excess.
  • Use 16-gauge 10mm jump rings to attach peace charm and world charm. For best way to open and close loops, see Jump Ring Hint in Jewelry Basics 101 (PDF)

After wearing this bracelet for a while, the designer has this tip to add: "The world charm is great on a bangle bracelet, but the peace sign with its open sections, has a habit of catching on stuff. I've had to put it back on the bracelet a few times, and after the last time, I'm just leaving it off. I'll turn my peace signs into earrings instead. If you still want 2 charms, then this heart-shaped leaf charm is a sweet option to continue the existing theme.
