Raw (Bare) Copper Jewelry-Making Supplies

Choose raw (bare) copper beads, blanks and jewelry findings, with no plating or artificial coating. It's easy to oxidize, or can be enameled with Thompson Enamels.

Raw copper beads, blanks and jewelry findings have no plating or artificial coating. Raw copper is also known as bare copper, and is easy to antique (oxidize), or can be enameled with medium-temperature, medium-expansion vitreous enamels (such as our Thompson Enamels). Copper blanks can also be etched with Ferric Chloride -- you can use PnP transfer film, rubber stamps, or even freehand Sharpie designs!

Copper Tubing can easily be turned into tubular beads (use a jeweler's saw and tube-cutting jig), and longer tube beads can be curved into a gentle arc with bracelet-bending pliers, or a sharper curve with ring-bending pliers (shop nylon-jaw bending pliers).

A tiny handful of beads and clasps in this category are hand made of solid copper, and then to cover up any scratches or dark solder joints, are copper plated on top of the solid copper. (Click into any product's details for more information about the item.)
