How to Use Needle-End Bead Cord
- Always start at the far end of the cord, because there is enough bead cord on each card, for a number of necklaces and bracelets. When done with your first project, leave the remaining cord attached to the needle for future projects.
- Make sure hands are clean before using bead cord -- especially white bead cord!
- What size bead cord do you need?
- Size 2 (0.45mm) is our thinnest needle-end silk cord, perfect for many freshwater pearls and tiny gemstone beads.
- Size 4 (0.6mm) is popular for general bead stringing: PRESTIGE Crystal crystal beads, Czech glass beads, 6mm and larger gemstones, etc.
- Size 6 (0.7mm) is best for larger beads of any material, especially if you are knotting between beads that have a larger hole.
- Bead tips are the most popular way to finish the ends of necklaces and bracelets strung on silk cord, and bullion is an attractive, but less common material for finishing the ends.

Griffin bead cord
I bought both size 2 and size 4 as I wasn't sure which size I needed. The size two did not make a big enough knot to keep the pearl in place. The size 4 was perfect.
