Description
Mookaite jasper beads add warmth to gemstone jewelry with bright splashes of red, yellow and brown. These semiprecious beads are cut from an Australian jasper that is also known as mook jasper, mookakite, mookalite, mookite, mooksite, moonkite, and moukaite. This gemstone is formed as sediment in erosion zones and as a filler in cracks. It's named for where it was first found, on Mooka Station, a sheep farm on the west side of the Kennedy Range in Western Australia. Mookaite beads are considered to have healing properties and to bestow strength. The semiprecious stone is said to shield wearers from difficult situations, and to bring us into the "here and now," aiding problem assessment and decision making. Practitioners of yoga and ayurveda use mookaite for the first, second, and third chakras.
