Pearl and Tassel Charm Leather Bracelet Tutorial

Designer Tips

The ring connector is the focal of this bracelet. For a more free-flowing design, attach charms to the leather cording.
Wire-wrap a pearl bead with a large loop, directly onto the large ring connector. (You may need to use a heishi bead to hold the pearl onto the head pin.) For step-by-step wire-wrapped loop instructions, see Jewelry Basics 101 (PDF).
Cut leather flush (flat) after measuring. Insert leather into the cord end, and gently but firmly pinch the center of the crimp using flat-nose pliers (once in each direction works nicely).
Wire-wrap metal heishi beads to connect the leather cord ends to the clasp.
Use 2 links of the rope-textured chain, to hang the tassel and TierraCast charm from the connector ring.
Heavy, unsoldered textured links found in this style of chain by the foot can be used as decorative jump rings in your designs. Instead of using wire cutters, they can be twisted open with pliers with no loss of material.
Note: the "eye" of the hook & eye clasp isn't actually used in this design. It's saved for another project.
The tassel in this bracelet was shortened by cutting portions off. It is adorable being so small!
Black, natural or other colors of leather would work nicely in this design.
Silver, gold and other platings can be used for the metal elements.

Editor's Note ... the freshwater pearl on the bracelet is actually from the designer's stash. The Leather-Hole pearl linked into the parts list is actually much smoother and rounder than than the pearl shown on the bracelet. However, it has a larger hole, so requires a seed bead or heishi bead underneath it so it doesn't slip off the ball-end head pin.
