Each bead features a wide stringing hole, perfect for using with thicker stringing materials like leather cord. In fact, these beads are temporarily strung on leather cord. These perfectly round beads are dark orange in color with small flecks of sparkling copper. Goldstone is glass with flecks of copper suspended in it. The glass is made in a reducing furnace with copper salts added; the copper platelets suspended within the glass gives the material its characteristic glitter. Goldstone has been around since the European Renaissance and stories say it was discovered accidentally by Venetian monks. It is also known as sandstone.
