Raw copper is unplated, and may not be as shiny as most plated finishes. To remove tarnish, use copper cleaner, a polishing cloth, or fine grit (1000 - 1500) sandpaper. To give a high polish to raw copper items, and/or remove rough edges, tumble-polish them with steel shot, water and a burnishing compound in a rock tumbler. To create an antiqued look on raw copper, apply an oxidizing solution. 10 Gauge Jewelry Wire is heavy, and can be hard to bend. This is a good size for making bangle bracelets and other wire bracelets. It's stiff enough that you'll want good-quality jewelry tools when working with it. However, you may still need to work-harden the wire to make sure bracelets and rings don't bend out of shape. Sometimes the process of forming your jewelry into the proper shape, work-hardens it enough. For other designs you may need to hammer-texture them or use a wire whacker on your finished design.
