Some tools are lightly covered with oil to prevent rust. If there is too much, wipe off the excess with a dry lint-free rag. Or, to remove any rust and add a protective layer, use machine oil (like 3-in-One) and a lint-free rag. Steel requires ongoing care to prevent rust, especially in cold or damp climates.
